MISSION STATEMENT
The Shamar Hope Haven Residential Treatment Center Behavioral Health
and Chemical Dependency Treatment Program exemplifies state of the art technology in the treatment of behavioral health and substance use disorders. We are dedicated to providing research based, culturally and developmentally approprriate therapeutic modalities to our clients and their families. We are committed to excellence in our mandate of teaching our clients the skills necessary to live healthy and drug free lives.
Mrs. Sharon A. Evans has been the Executive Director for Shamar Hope Haven Residential Treatment Center since its founding in 2001. She manages all aspects of day-to-day operations. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice at Grambling State University of Louisiana.
After working in corporate America for 10 years, Mrs. Evans decided to step out on faith to dutifully serve the youth of Houston. She has served as Vice President of the Houston Citizens’ Chamber of Commerce, as well as the Houston Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse. She presently serves as a Board Member of the Monarch Child Development Center and Everyday Life, Inc. Residential Treatment Center.
Mrs. Evans is currently an active member of Windsor Village United Methodist Church and Christian Mother's In Action. Her hobbies include daily constitutionals, traveling, and fellowship. If you're ever at Shamar Hope Haven you can enjoy Mrs. Evans singing to the clients, empathizing with them, or just having a good time! She has never regretted leaving the corporate world and states:
“The boys are a joy to me and if I had to start over I would do it the same way, with LOVE AND FAITH."
Shamar Hope Haven Residential Treatment Program represents the first step in a child's ongoing treatment plan. In residential treatment, residents begin the healing process by participating in a number of group and individual counseling sessions.
